Artist's Statement
Physiology is the scientific study of the function of living systems. Linking the contradicting subjects of science and art is my passion. Disciplines consisting of biology, examine the workings behind how organisms, organs, organ systems, and cell function both chemically and physically. Both human and animal physiology are an influential aspect to my art, because of this linking science and art together is a key focal point in my process and idea generation. With simple materials of canvas and acrylic paint my art is inspired by assessments of the science of the mechanical, physical, and biochemical aspects of humans and animals in good health. Living systems capabilities such as the heart’s ability to maintain life to the rest of the body or the need for oxygen just to sustain life. These biochemical fascinations spark the foundation of my art. After first glance one may begin to find the connection between a simple painting and the physiology aspect it contains. Through my work I want to show a simple yet beautiful way to comprehend that who humans interact and react revolves around the mechanical, physical and biochemical aspects of the living systems working as one. Having an educational back ground in the science field my art expresses my passion and continues to be a growing passion to everyone living on planet Earth
